Best practices
- Always plug in your storage media before you power on the machine.
- Never unplug your storage media while the machine is running.
- Never reboot the display while the machine is running.
- If you reboot the display or unplug the storage media while the machine is running there is a very strong likelihood the data being written to the storage media will be corrupted.
- Always wait until BOTH the machine and display are powered down before unplugging the storage media.
Notes:
- These best practices are important to follow because an IntelliView 4 OR a Case AFS Pro 700 display do NOT have a hot-pluggable USB port. They can only recognize storage media that is plugged into the display before the display has booted up. Both these displays also write data to the storage media constantly after the machine is powered up. Because of this constant write process rebooting the display or unplugging the storage media will interrupt that write process, causing data corruption. Finally, after the machine is shut down the display is designed to finish it’s data writing process to the storage media. If the display cannot finish this process the data will be corrupt.
- There is no manual file export process with this display. Rather it writes data constantly to the storage media.
- The USB Type-C connector (the small end) should have the smooth side of its plastic shroud facing up toward the label.
